SCENARIO

You've joined GridMeter. A meter in a basement loses signal and uploads hours of readings at once — out of order, sometimes duplicated. When a meter is suspected faulty an estimated reading is issued so a bill can go out, and it is replaced when the truth arrives. Bills must then be reissued without double-charging, and customer care has to explain the change.
